I’m Simit—a software developer specializing in machine learning, husband, and dad of three. When I’m not building tools or reading another history book, you’ll find me playing guitar, shooting hoops, or chasing my kids around.

My interest in history changed in 2004. After September 11th, I began searching for information outside the traditional narrative—a search that opened a twenty-year rabbit hole into the parts of history that never make it into standard textbooks.

When COVID happened, I found myself navigating similar territory: overwhelming information, conflicting accounts, and a lot of unanswered questions. I realized something important:

Teens need a way to understand modern events, not just memorize centuries-old facts.

But nearly all history curriculum focuses on distant past events. And as a dad, I worried: How will my children process and understand the world they’re growing into?

So I set out to create the curriculum I wished existed—honest, challenging, and unafraid to follow the truth.

Growing up in a deeply religious household and attending Catholic school from grades 1–12, I was surrounded by strong beliefs. That upbringing taught me one core value:

Truth matters. We follow it wherever it leads, without allegiance to political tribes or comforting narratives.

This commitment shapes everything we build at Pallas Center:

  • No political spin
  • No sensationalism
  • No avoidance of hard topics

Just clear, well-researched, honest history that teaches students how to think, not what to think

I’m Sarah—mom of nine, foster and adoptive parent, communicator, and lifelong learner.

Our family has used nearly every educational model imaginable: homeschool, co-ops, charter schools, public and private schools, early-college programs, hybrid models, tutors, career centers—you name it.

After 14 years of homeschooling, I hit a wall. Between fostering for eight years, adopting three children, leading a homeschool co-op, and trying to keep every educational ball in the air, I burned out. Something needed to change.

That season transformed my understanding of education:

  • There is no one-size-fits-all model.
  • Life skills and social-emotional development matter just as much as academics.
  • Families need flexibility—not guilt or shame.
  • Parents deserve support and community.

My background includes:

  • Being homeschooled and attending public, private, and early-college programs
  • A B.A. in English from Cedarville University
  • Two decades of parenting and educating nine kids across diverse schooling models
  • Coaching parents, co-ops, and education-focused businesses
  • Supporting homeschool parents at TenMinuteMomentum.com

At Pallas Center, I bring the parent perspective, the practical lens, and the experience of navigating real-world challenges and launching young people into adulthood (we have 4 adult children).

My focus is helping families make informed, confident educational decisions—while fostering skills that help kids thrive far beyond the classroom.

Why We Built Pallas Center Together

We came to this work from different directions:

Simit—from the pursuit of truth, clarity, and understanding of modern history’s impact on today’s world.

Sarah—from the trenches of homeschooling, parenting, burnout, rebuilding, and understanding families.

Together, our strengths form the foundation of Pallas Center.

Our Shared Mission

  • Teach history honestly, courageously, and relevantly
  • Build confident, clear-thinking teens
  • Equip parents to make empowered educational choices
  • Provide community, support, and real-world tools
  • Create curriculum that speaks to today’s world, not yesterday’s

What We Believe

  • History should help teens understand the world they live in right now.
  • Parents are capable and deserve resources that respect their intelligence.
  • Thinking is a skill—and students rise to the level of challenge they’re given.
  • Education should serve the entire family, not drain it.
  • Truth is non-negotiable.

Where Pallas Center Is Going

We’re building:

  • Robust modern history curriculum for teens
  • Critical thinking and analysis resources
  • Support for parents, co-ops, and alternative education models
  • A community for families who want more than surface-level learning
  • Tools that prepare teens for adulthood with clarity, competence, and courage

We’re honored to co-found this work together—and excited for what’s ahead.
